Edith Lyle Hall Being Built in 1935
Our hall being built in 1935

3rd Poole Sea Scout Group is situated on West Quay Road opposite the RNLI HQ. We are only a few seconds walk from Holes Bay where the Scouts and Explorers do water activities over the summer months, which include Sailing, Kayaking, Powerboating, Rowing and Rafting.

Our hall is only a mile or two from Brownsea Island where the first ever Scout camp was held in 1907.

Our Group was registered on 3rd October 1932 and has expanded ever since. It has a Beaver Colony, Cub Pack, Scout Troop and also an Explorer Unit. We are also 1 of only 105 groups to be an Admiralty Recognised Sea Scout group, you can click here to see the full list.

The Group has a purpose built Headquarters and boatyard for our collection of well maintained Boats including Laser Picos Sailing Dinghies, Kayaks, Canoes, Power and Rescue Boats and our larger sailing dinghies.

Explorers and Scouts also get chances to gain nationally recognised qualifications, from the RYA and BCU. Beavers and Cubs have the opportunity once or twice a year to go on boat trips or water activity days, where they get to do similar activities to the Scouts and Explorers.
